WHAT TO PACK

DRESS CODE:

The manner in which we dress makes a statement about who we are. In Mogen Av we do everything we can to surround all campers and staff with the most torahdik environment. As such the clothing worn has an impact on this environment. Please be careful when shopping that the logos and messages printed on the T- shirts you purchase are appropriate. If you are not sure, it is best to avoid it.

For davening, we require that boys dress should include long pants socks, shoes (not slippers) and if your son wears a hat and jacket in Yeshiva he will be asked to do the same in camp.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

It is essential that each and every article of clothing, bedding, sports equipment, flashlight, camera, etc., be marked with your son’s name in full. This should be done with woven or washable printed name tapes, the only safe way to be sure nothing is lost and for proper identification in the Laundry. Make sure these are securely sewn. It is impossible to return lost items when they are not labeled.

All clothing, bedding and personal effects should be packed in duffel bags for simple handling. Duffels should be securely closed and well tagged with the campers’ baggage tags, which are mailed to you early in June.

We do our utmost to see that the children receive all of their laundry back and also that they return home with all of the clothing and equipment they brought. However we regret that we are unable to assume any responsibility for clothing lost in the laundry or anything mislaid at camp.

WHAT NOT TO BRING

THE FOLLOWING ITEMS HAVE NO PLACE IN CAMP. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ITEMS TO CAMP WITH YOUR CHILD. CONFISCATED ITEMS WILL NOT BE RETURNED UNTIL THE END OF CAMP.

CELLULAR PHONES: Please make sure your child does not bring a smart phone or to camp. In the past few years a few older campers have brought them. If they bring them- they use them- and we find them! Confiscated phones WILL NOT be returned. Please do not let your child bring one to camp.

The following items are not permitted:
-CD Players
-MP3 Players

FOOD & CANDY POLICY

While nosh from home is welcome, please be assured the meals in camp are bountiful and delicious. If you would like to send snacks along we strongly recommend that you keep them to a minimum. They create a mess in the bunks and they disrupt the boys’ appetite. As well, please be aware the foods such as cereal boxes, potato chips bags and the like in non re-sealable bags cause additional mess and may bring bugs. If you do find the need for this please send along a sealable container to keep open snacks contained. Cases of water are available at the canteen for a great price.

SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY.

CONSIDERABLE THOUGHT HAS GONE INTO OUR POLICIES.  WE ASK ALL PARENTS AND STAFF TO SUPPORT OUR POLICIES AND HELP KEEP OUR CHILDREN BOTH SAFE AND HEALTHY.
