SHMA Family Camp, run by SHMA Camps, is a summer getaway designed for families to enjoy quality time together in a vibrant camp setting. Located at Camp Sternberg in Narrowsburg, NY, the camp offers a wide range of activities including a private lake, heated pools, a 300-foot water slide, lazy river, boating, ATVing, and more. Families can stay in either bungalows or bunkhouses, with flexible rental options for 5, 7, or 10 days during the late summer season. Day visits are also available, offering access to the camp’s many attractions and special events like concerts and fireworks.
The camp features a variety of on-site amenities that enhance the experience for guests, including a fully stocked Beis Medrash and a Mikvah Taharah on the premises. There are also separate swimming times and other family-friendly accommodations that promote comfort and privacy. SHMA Family Camp blends relaxation, recreation, and meaningful experiences in a beautiful natural setting.

Cancellations made 14 days or more prior to check-in will receive a refund minus a one-night cancellation fee. If cancellation notice is provided less than 14 days in advance, the payment is forfeited. No refunds or credits are issued for inclement weather, illness, work conflicts, no-shows, early departures, failure to adhere to camp rules, or circumstances beyond SHMA Family Camp Management’s control.
Yes, upon arrival you will need to provide credit card information (MasterCard, Visa, or Discover) as a security deposit. This information is securely kept on file and is removed upon receiving a satisfactory housekeeping report. In the event of damage or extra cleaning required, charges may be applied after prior notification.
SHMA Family Camp offers pedal boats, kayaks, standing kayaks, and paddleboards, and you are not permitted to bring your own watercraft. Every person on a watercraft must wear a life vest, and children should always be supervised. For campfires, use only the provided fire rings at each campsite, and remember that no out-of-state firewood is allowed due to state regulations. When it comes to fishing, the camp’s waters hold bass, bluegill, calico, perch, pickerel, and catfish, and the policy encourages a catch-and-release approach.
Family Camp 2025 runs from August 22nd to September 1st, 2025.
Guests can choose from 2- or 3-bedroom bungalows, premium 3-bedroom bungalows, bunkhouses, pioneer bunkhouses, or glamping tents. All units offer varying capacities and layouts to suit different family needs.
The camp features a fully stocked Beis Medrash with Daily Minyanim and a Mikvah Tahara on the premises for guest use.

Linen rental is available for $36/person for the entire stay.
Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and no check-in is allowed after 10:00 PM. Guests must check out by 10:00 AM on the day of departure.

Day guests are welcome but must stop by the office to register and pay the appropriate guest fee. They should vacate the property by 8:00 PM.
Please leave your rental unit in the condition you found it. You should bag garbage and place it in the designated outside can between 6:00 AM and 7:00 PM. Additionally, remove all debris and personal items (including food) from the unit before departing.
